It punches cleanly and easily and as a bonus the base is the newer type that folds up(which I wish they would include in the description)to save space as we all know is a premium in the paper-crafter's area! I have several of Maratha's punches and this one is my favorite so far.There is something unique about it that I enjoy. It also arrived before stated which is always a nice surprise.
