The directions on the bottle are a bit confusing. Cut the suckers to about six inches high, then spray sparingly (be sure to shake first). No need to saturate the leaves. After a few weeks you'll probably have to go back and get the suckers that you missed the first time around. On one tree I had already cut the suckers to the ground, so I sprayed the stubs. It still worked great!
I have used this product on ornamental pear and cherry with excellent results. This is the first season that I've tried it. We'll see what happens next year. I'll try to report back.
2010 update - Used the product several times last year for mid-season touch ups. Sure beats pulling and cutting by hand. I got the usual crop of spring suckers, although less than years past. Hit them with the product a few days ago and they are already withering. Still have half a bottle left. Highly recommended product.
