(More customer reviews)I have a cool to intermediate greenhouse and needed a way to provide bottom heat for warm-growing orchids and tropical foliage plants (aroids). Shortly after I began using this well-designed mat (which is plugged into a control unit that was previously bought with a different type and brand of propagation mat (the control unit has a temperature sensor which is inserted into the media in one of the plant pots), all the Phalaenopsis plants (set on a large piece of egg crate placed over the mat) began to spike. A big Vanda hanging over the other propagation mat has begun a nice-looking inflorescence as well, showing that propagation mats may be used in this way to warm the air well above the mats as well as the zone immediately at or just above the mat surface. In other words, I now am able to grow warm-growing plant species and hybrids on a bench within a greenhouse that otherwise would have been far too cool for them to grow well.
