Reviewed from Zone 8, Southeastern Texas. I ordered this hybiscus from Sandy's Nursery and couldn't be happier. A week before it was due to be shipped, I emailed Sandy with some questions about how best to plant and care for it. She answered the next day with great advice and told me I'd be getting a care pamphlet with it. The hybiscus arrived well-packaged in a 4" pot with lots of healthy, green leaves and a well-developed root system and a two-page hybiscus care pamphlet with it that is really easy to read and understand. When it arrived (along with two others I'd ordered - all in the same fabulous condition), I unwrapped them and set them inside where they could get some filtered sun for most of the day. They stayed there for about a week to 'settle in' from their trip. Watered just a bit as instructed to keep them from drying out. After about a week, I potted them up in 6" pots and moved them outside to filtered sun for about 3 days. Moved them to full sun after that. These hybiscus are growing like mad! New leaves popping out every day. They're pretty small yet for blooms and frankly I'd rather see them put their energy into making a good root system for now - plenty of time for blooms later. I'll come back and edit this review when she starts to bloom as I know it's gonna be lovely!
