I recently purchased this Daddy's Girl Flower Bouquet. I assumed that the item in the picture was the item that I was going to get. It was after all $39.00 plus $10.00 shipping. Well as they say in the Hertz commercial -- Not exactly. My 7 year old daughter received a clear vase and not the pink one that was in the picture. The flowers were nice and that is not in question. My issue is the vase. I really wanted the pink vase because my 7 year old daughter is into pink. A big part of the reason I bought the bouquet was because of the vase in the picture. So I wondered why I did not get the vase. I thought it might have been a substitution. An email was dispatched to Pro-flowers with the question. Here is their response.
"We apologize for any confusion you have experienced. We often picture our flowers in upgraded vases, but in order to receive that upgraded vase you must select and pay an additional amount for the upgraded pink vase. Our records show that the vase you selected when the order was placed was the clear square glass vase. Again we apologize that this was not clear when you were placing your order."
The only problem was that they did not ever offer me a chance to upgrade the vase. When I pointed this out this was their response:

"We apologize for the erroneous information. The upgraded vases are ONLY available by going directly to the ProFlowers site and purchasing the bouquet you wish and then an upgraded vase. All ProFlowers Amazon orders are always sent with the clear glass vase, and there is never an option to upgrade vase selection on the Amazon site; only through the ProFlowers site"
I did check and this is the information stated in the Details & Features Section on Amazon.
"Free Glass vase with each purchase of a flower bouquet"
I suppose a clearer message would have been "Ignore the picture - you are going to get a clear vase unless you leave Amazon's website and come to ours and upgrade it."
But alas when I went to the Proflowers site to see how much the pink vase would have cost me, I discovered that as of 18 OCT 2010 Pro-flowers does not offer the pink vase that it shows in its picture. So now what am I supposed to think?
Conclusions:
Do not believe what you see in the picture. They are all glass whether you like it or not.
Make sure to read all of the text and understand what they really mean.
Be prepared to leave the world class Amazon site so that you can go to the Proflowers website so that you can actually purchase what is in the picture -- assuming that they actually sell what is in the picture.
