This classic artificial ficus plant is handcrafted by House of Silk Flowers. Show your sense of style by adding this to an empty corner in any room of your home or to add a little life to your office. This floor plant contains a professionally-arranged artificial ficus floor plant securely "potted" in a traditional hammered bronze designer metal planter, measuring at the widest points: 12" diameter x 16" tall. The plant has been arranged to allow 360-degree viewing (you won't find an unattractive side on this plant). The overall dimensions are measured leaf tip to leaf tip, from the bottom of the planter feet to the tallest leaf tip: 52" high X 24" wide. Measurements are approximate, and will be determined by your final shaping of the plant upon unpacking it. (More customer reviews)I bought theses seeds - as well as many others - and they simply did not come up. I followed all instructions given for planting but had zero results. This was true of about 95% of all the seeds that I bought with these seeds. I live in an area where it is in the 60's at night and 80's during the day (year around). I am at 4,800 feet above sea level in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. The seeds were started in small cups in potting soil in my greenhouse under a very controlled condition.
The seeds were shipped to my Texas address and brought to my home in my auto. I say this so there is no miss-understanding that they were damaged via x-ray by way of a flight.
It was a waste of time and money.

I planted a few around our patio, the ones in the semi-shady area soon wilted and died, some were very small and never matured. A couple were directly under the sun are doing beautifully and have flowered as well. I tried the leaves (these are edible) and they almost taste like rocket leaves.
Hardly need any tending.

I have an antique Lehman chrome punch set with a ring around it for punch cups, only it came without the cups. The original set from the 1940s (I think) had either red or blue cups. I was on the hunt for quite a while looking for replacements.
It was impossible to find blue glasses small enough to sit on the ring, until I stumbled on these little votives. (Praise God for search engines!)
It turns out they are suitable for drinking, harder and less breakable than glasses, and the most beautiful shade of blue. Plus they were a fraction of the cost of glasses.
I may get some red ones for Christmas.

Flower House FHSD100 SeedHouse Seed Starter Review

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these and proceeded to experiment with it, measuring air and soil temperatures inside and out. (I'm in zone 6, near New York City.) On a sunny day in late March, the temperature inside the SeedHouse will be much higher than outside, sometimes as much as thirty degrees more (I'd be careful about cooking your plants on a warm day!). It also holds humidity in very well, so it's good for germinating.
On the other hand, just like the instructions that come with it say, it will drop to ambient temperature at night. But over a couple of days, that still means a warmer temperature on average than outside, and it warms the soil perhaps five degrees. And I do expect that if I put a pail of water in it to store the heat of the day, it will probably protect it from spring hard freezes (within reason).
It also stays put well in the wind, as it's staked like a tent.
The one thing I don't know yet is the effect on the light. It cuts down on total light a little, but diffuses it. Is that good? I'll find out.
UPDATE: Even without putting a bucket of water in it, it protected my pepper plants from the first Fall freeze. I know that, because the peppers that I left out of it died that night. It was just a few hours below freezing, but that's a nice extender at the end of the growing season.

(More customer reviews)This was over-priced, but it's worth the buy. After finishing the picture, I framed it & all my friends are shocked that it was made by me. It really does look "professional" and store-bought.
Now for the Bad Points: There are a lot of straight edges on this piece, so it helps to use painter's tape. I cut mine into smaller, thinner strips to help get the legs of the fruit stand. Also, if you get this kit, go to Wal-Mart or a craft store immediately and buy yourself a pack of different sized "small/angled" DECENT paintbrushes (Packs of about 9 run $6-$7). The one that comes in the box is worthless and cheap. There is a LOT of mixing involved, so turn your fan off while working to help keep the custom colors from drying so quickly.
This kit is not for the meek-of-heart. Be prepared for this project to last about a month or so. Good luck to you all & I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)

(More customer reviews)I work in a hospital where glass vases are not safe in patient areas, so when family would bring flowers in glass vases, we'd put them in plastic or styrofoam cups.
These are much nicer to use, and a casual observer would think they were glass. It's a bonus that they store flat.
Here's a hint if you buy them: the directions are pretty sketchy about how to get them to work. When I first used them, I put in some warm water but they didn't expand the way I thought they would, so I couldn't get them to stand up. Someone had to show me how to open up the bottom (pull apart the two sides that formed the bottom) and then they filled up just fine...subsequent uses didn't require opening up the bottom to get them to work,they did it on their own.
I felt kind of stupid.

I loved the look but was very frustrated because it got dirty so fast. The second one is blue and it looks nice. It does not show the stains like the first one and is easy to clean. I really loved how the clear one looked but the blue works well too. It is very easy to fit to the sink drain. the other styles do not let you fit the mat to the drain position as this style allows.
