(More customer reviews)Each rose uses 2 LED batteries (8 were included in the package). The lights have a good amount of brightness, although I've seen some misleading pictures of these LEDs posted. They float without a problem in still water, don't know how they would do in a turbulent flow. Each rose has maybe 5 settings which are easy to cycle through.
I think calling these "waterproof" is a bit misleading; I screwed the battery case shut (there's a thin rubber seal) and then taped the bottom with plastic tape. 3 out of 4 roses did fine for several hours. The 4th got water into the battery area and stopped working; to its credit it worked fine after i dried the housing overnight.
for the price it's a decent toy to have. Not the highest quality, but serviceable.
