(More customer reviews)I bought this fan to keep in my purse for those occasions when I'm stuck somewhere with minimal AC coverage. Before AC all sorts of folks in New Orleans, men and women, carried fans and used them regularly. Though generally today a personal fan is not as necessary, I have noticed lately that companies are keeping buildings a little warmer in an effort to cut costs. I'm completely supportive of burning less energy, so rather than simply sit there sweltering and complaining about it, which many people seem very content doing, I bring out my fan. Inevitability, someone thinks it's a great idea and asks where I got it.
The fan being sold here is very nice. It's silk and seems to be put together well. I'm assuming it will last a while as long as I resist the urge to open it with the dramatic flair of a flamenco dancer (which is a temptation in certain company.) The colors are much more subtle than they seem in the photo, which I prefer. I'd consider the color palette to be in a range of dusty-purples. It's quite lovely.
I just wish it came with a fabric case to protect it in my purse, but I'm sure I'll come up with something to store it in. Depending on how long this one lasts (I'll update this review if it falls apart,) I would definitely buy another.

Lovely designs captured on silk make these fans wonderful decorative accents. They also fit nicely into a purse to ward off hot flashes or the heat on hot summer days.Each fan is handmade and thus may look slightly different from photo.
