(More customer reviews)I am an avid gardner. I have tried 'square foot gardening' It was great, but it just never turned out like in the books. I tried the same theory with the 4x4 raised beds last spring and have have had great harvests of corn and salad greens. There's no significant issue with weeds. It's a lot easier to control pests.
Liked it so much that I have purchased 4 of the 4x8 kits and plan to try tomatoes, cucumbers, and pumpkins next year. I have decided to try and do my entire garden this spring in raised beds. Wish me luck.

(More customer reviews)Glauconite, or greensand, is a clay-based sediment from ancient seabeds and a by-product of oil drilling. It contains significant amounts of potassium, but its primary benefit to plants is that it contains a balance of the trace minerals so often deficient in overworked soils.
Copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc may all be present in greensand in the small but vital amounts needed by growing plants. Greensand may also contain boron, calcium, magnesium, and sulphur, but not in sufficient quantities to ensure adequate availability.
Don't be misled by the relatively low potassium analysis. Greensand is an excellent supplement for any garden, especially on overworked previously agricultural land.
