Fairly good packaging. The chains arrived in a plastic "sock" to minimize scratching during shipment.
Very easy to adjust the length and to install. They have been up for 6 weeks and the patina process is beginning to take place.
They look great, many compliments, just do not expect them to handle more than a light rain, because once it starts to come down, the spray is significant.

(More customer reviews)This is very beautiful hanging from our Japanese maple. It is changing color beautifully and getting the nice dark patina that will soon turn green over time. It will eventually be moved out to the rain gutter out front but I wanted to enjoy it in the backyard for awhile. My husband and I tested it with the hose and the water falls very nicely with very little splashing out of the flowers, just a few drops. I recommend this rain chain, it is so lovely to look at.

For sale is ONE rain chain made of pure solid copper in the shape of morning glory flowers. The chain can replace traditional gutter by guiding rainwater onto the ground. It makes soothing sound when water travels down. The copper construction will make the chain last for decades and develop a beautiful greenish patina with age. The entire chain is 8-ft long and has 16 flowers. Each unit comes with a V-shaped hanger (made of thick copper wire) for gutter attachment. (More customer reviews)We have wanted rain chains since we saw them in a model home Three years ago. My wife asked for them on her wish list, and I was excited to get them. The rain chain we received with the fluted cups came in the wrong finish. We ordered Stainless and got Copper.
My wife decided she could live with the copper finish, so we did not need to return them. I installed the chain on a 6 foot long gutter with a 3" hole. After installing, we ran a garden hose in the gutter to see it work. Less than 10% of the water made it to the bottom of the chain at any flow rate. Then I used one of the unused cups to funnel the water from the gutter to the chain covering the flare from the gutter. It made the installation look much better, but now maybe 25% of the water made it down the chain. Just for grins, I took a standard oval loop chain left over from a home lighting fixture and installed it in place of the fluted cups set. Now about 80% of the water made it down the chain. But it looked way too plain and it was bound to rust.
In our situation we needed Most of the water to make it to the bottom to be captured by a splash pan and directed away from the house. If this is not an important consideration for your installation, you may try these rain chains. They are beautiful. I will not be able to use this set until we buy a new house that has a different drain situation not requiring most of the water to do anything but look good falling down the pretty copper fluted cups.

(More customer reviews)The only reason I gave these a 4 rather than a 5 is because I will have to alter the gutter to hang them securely. I don't know that I wouldn't have bought these had I known that, but I do wish they had been more specific on what was required on the gutter. It says:
"Each unit comes with an attachment piece and is very easy to be installed into your existing gutter system." I have to remove an end cap and drill holes for mounting...not difficult, just not "real easy". These are so beautiful though that I have no regrets!
