This has to be one of my favorite cross stitch patterns I've ever done. As soon as I had seen the picture on the front I knew I had to make it myself. It was going to be (and still is) the largest cross stitch project I had ever attempted. I don't think I realized what I was getting myself into at first. It took me a long time to complete, but I didn't work on it everyday or all the time either. My patience and determination won out in the end and I was rewarded with a very beautiful piece. The colors are vibrant and it looks almost like a real painting on my wall. The detail that went into this pattern is just amazing!
One thing I really like about this kit is that the aida cloth is completely blank and there is NO stamped or pre-printed picture on it at all whatsover. (I always feel like thats cheating somehow.)
I would recommend one thing when taking it in to get it framed. The lady at the craft store I had it framed at gave me some helpful information and I'd like to pass it on to all of you. Add at least 3 rows of stitches extra all the way around the piece with the coordinating color. When they mount it and put it in the frame some of the rows will be covered up and hidden by the frame. In this case those beautiful flowers in the corners or the details on her outfit at the bottom. By adding some extra rows the frame will go right where its supposed to and you won't lose any of the picture.
There was more then enough thread in the project to complete the picture and add those 3 rows. Everyone whose seen it remarks on how great it looks. I would recommend this pattern to anyone. Just be ready to work on it for a long time. =o)
